Squad Training

Our EC Squad program provides a constant flow of swimmers into each of the squads in the competitive and fitness programs.  The development and training of swimmers is aimed at maintaining a competitive swimming club with high levels of performance and achievements and encouraging students to have a life-long love for swimming.

We can achieve this by:

  • Building confidence
  • Developing the mental strength of the swimmer & a positive attitude toward training
  • Constantly monitoring the dynamics of workload, sports results and fitness
  • Developing strategic thinkers

Head Coach, Andrew Hancock, has had a distinguished swimming and coaching career over the last three decades.  An Australian Age finalist and medalist while growing up, Andrew headed to the USA in 2000 to swim within the collegiate system. He found his passion for the sport of swimming grow over the years and took up an Age group coaching role in 2005, where his swimmers set several American National Age Group Records.  Andrew began a college coaching career in 2007 and became the Head Coach at the University of West Florida in 2012, where he remained before heading back to Australia to join the Emmanuel College Aquatics program in 2018.  During his time coaching at West Florida, Andrew was awarded “Conference Coach of the Year” three times, and his swimmers won numerous National titles.

Coach Andrew has had a positive impact on our Aquatics program and has been instrumental in re-structuring the EC Squad program which has seen the swimmers flourish under his coaching team.  He can be heard each afternoon asking the swimmers if they are having fun and “who got better today?”

Coach Andrew is supported by an outstanding group of coaches including:
