Squad Training

Our EC Squad program provides a constant flow of swimmers into each of the squads in the competitive and fitness programs.  The development and training of swimmers is aimed at maintaining a competitive swimming club with high levels of performance and achievements and encouraging students to have a life-long love for swimming.

We can achieve this by: 

• Building confidence
• Developing the mental strength of the swimmer & a positive attitude toward training
• Constantly monitoring the dynamics of workload, sports results and fitness
• Developing strategic thinkers

Squad Pathway

Squad Development Pathway Our development squads continue to build upon the technical foundation established in the Learn to Swim program. Swimmers in these squads are typically in school years 3-5, and will focus on technique and fun as they establish a lifelong love of the sport (regardless of their competitive aspirations).

Senior Squad Pathway The Senior Squad Pathway aims to serve our senior (typically years 6 and above) swimmers who swim for health, fitness, or cross training for other sports. These squads feature a balance between technique and fitness, and while swimmers in these squads can (and do) compete, they are not required to make the same commitment as those in the performance pathway.

Performance Pathway The primary objective of the performance pathway is to provide swimmers with the support necessary to achieve their competitive ambitions in the sport. Swimmers in these squads will typically be in school years 6 and over, and will have shown and aptitude for, and commitment to, competitive swimming. These groups require higher levels of training and competition attendance and have higher entry standards than those in the Senior Squad pathway.
