Application Process

We are delighted that you are considering our school for your family's educational journey. Over the next few years, your child will make important, life-shaping decisions, both at school and in their personal lives. At Emmanuel, we hold our Christian faith as the reference point by which we understand our place in the world, and will invite your child to do the same.

Carefully guided by our pastoral care team, peer support programs and mentors, your child will evaluate the Christian worldview on its own merits and make an informed decision about their own morals and beliefs. Throughout their Emmanuel journey, we’ll support your child to act with integrity, compassion and respect towards others — foundational convictions of the Christian faith.

While providing a Christian education of the highest quality, our educators are committed to an unwavering desire to see your child achieve his or her fullest potential.

Our students are encouraged to serve their community and to strive for excellence in all areas, including academic results, presentation, conduct, and effort. We prioritize inclusivity and support, ensuring that every individual feels valued and respected.

We ask that all students and families respect and support the Christian ethos that is integral to our school community.

Although we cannot guarantee a place for siblings, we do give preference to siblings of current students. We understand the importance of family connections within our school and strive to accommodate siblings whenever possible.

Thank you once again for considering Emmanuel College. If you have any further questions or need additional information, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to assist you and guide you through the enrolment process.

Warmest Regards

Sharon Vincent

Application for Enrolment

Please note - all cohorts for 2024 and 2025 are fully allocated and applications closed. Applications are open for 2026 and future years.

The current intake year levels at Emmanuel College are Prep, Year 7, and Year 10. Applications for these year levels must be submitted by January 31, one year prior to enrolment. Upon the application deadline, we will review all submissions received by the due date and begin our interview process.

Please note that the selection process is not based on the order of application submission. All applications are evaluated as vacancies arise. Due to the high volume of applications, we regret that we are unable to interview all families.

Vacancies in non-intake year levels are filled as they become available. Families are invited to complete an Application for Enrolment to join our waiting list for the desired cohort. When a vacancy occurs, we will consult the waiting list and review all current applications at that time.

Prep Applications:

Children in Queensland are eligible for Prep the year they turn 5 if they have a birthdate before 30th June. However, at Emmanuel College, we build our cohorts using a birthday cut off from 1st April. Our experience shows students having the advantage of a delayed start thrive throughout their educational journey, especially in the senior years. If your child has a birthday after the 1st April, we recommend an application for the following year.

Year 11 - 12:

We kindly advise that we are unable to enrol new students in Years 11 and 12 due to our accelerated curriculum. The final opportunity for enrolment is for students beginning in Term 4 of Year 10. Thank you for your understanding.

International students:

As Emmanuel College is not CRICOS registered, we are unable to enrol international students or students with a visa number 500 or above.

Please contact the enrolments team at enrolments@emmanuel.qld.edu.au or by phone (07) 5561 4021 if you require additional information.

Please read through the 3 stages below and then proceed to apply online.

Applications for our Pre-Prep Centre, Little e's are located under the DISCOVER page on the main menu.

An application fee of $110.00* (including GST) is payable with each application.  *This fee covers administration costs of the enrolment process and is not refundable if an application is unsuccessful.

Step 2: Assessment Phase

The Enrolments Registrar and Head of School will assess Enrolment Applications. Due to the volume of applications we receive, we are unable to offer all families an interview. Families will be invited to interview when a vacancy arises.

If you are to be offered an interview, you will be contacted to arrange a date and time.  Interviews with potential students should be accompanied by one or both parents/guardians. An invitation to interview is not a confirmation of enrolment.

PROCEED TO STEP 3

Step 3: Interview Phase

If your application and interview is successful, we will confirm your offer in writing and give you an opportunity to respond within a set period of time. If you do not respond within that period, the place may be offered to another student.

Written notification of a place is the only official notification on which you should rely. This offer will only be secured upon the return of your signed Enrolment Contract with payment of the Enrolment Fee and Capital Contribution.

Payments Required at Confirmation of Enrolment*

Acceptance of Enrolment Fee:  $100 per student

Initial Capital Contribution: $600 for the first child
                                             $400 for the second child
                                             $Nil for all subsequent children

Please note: the contract is completed when the contract form (signed by the College) is returned to us, signed by all relevant parties (usually two parents/guardians).

*These are non-refundable fees in the event that you subsequently decide not to proceed with the enrolment, after you have accepted it. In cases of family emergency or extreme hardship you may make a request for a compassionate consideration in regard to a refund, which the College will consider, but not necessarily accept.
