What makes Emmanuel College distinctly Christian?
Our Christian faith is central to every aspect of College life. From daily devotions and prayer to our academic curriculum, pastoral care, and community service, our values are woven into all we do. We strive to nurture a Christ-centred culture that supports the spiritual growth of every student.
What curriculum does the College follow?
Emmanuel College follows the Australian Curriculum as set by national and state educational authorities. We deliver a rigorous, future-focused education that encourages curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning.
How are parents involved in the life of the College?
We value the partnership between home and school and welcome parent involvement. Opportunities include classroom assistance in the Junior School, volunteering roles, and participation in various community events throughout the year.
How does the College communicate with parents?
Clear and consistent communication is a priority. We engage with families through a range of channels including email, newsletters, our parent portal (Schoolbox), and face-to-face meetings.
Are families invited to attend College events?
Absolutely. Families are warmly welcomed at a range of events including Chapel services, concerts, sports carnivals, and our annual Open Days.
What pastoral care and counselling services are available?
Emmanuel College has a dedicated Pastoral Care team and access to qualified counsellors. We provide holistic support, including emotional, spiritual, and academic support to ensure the wellbeing of every student.
What is the enrolment process?
Our primary intake years are Prep, Year 7, and Year 10. For other year levels, offers are made based on availability and waiting list status. We recommend attending a campus tour or Open Day prior to submitting an online application.
Are there any faith-based prerequisites for enrolment?
As a Christian College, we welcome families who support our values and ethos, regardless of denomination. Priority is given to families actively involved in a Christian faith community.
What age can my child start school?
In Queensland, children are eligible for Prep if they turn five before June 30. At Emmanuel College, we use an April 1 cut-off for our Prep cohort. We find that children who begin school at an older age often benefit academically and socially throughout their schooling. If your child’s birthday falls after April 1, we recommend applying for the following year.
Can we tour the College before enrolling?
Yes. We invite prospective families to attend a campus tour or Open Day to experience College life firsthand. Bookings can be made via our website.
Does the College offer boarding or short-term enrolments?
Emmanuel College is a day school and does not offer boarding facilities. Enrolment is available for full-time students only.
What are the class sizes?
We maintain smaller class sizes to ensure personalised attention and support for every student. Classes are capped at 28 students.
What co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities are available?
Students can explore a wide range of programs beyond the classroom, including music, drama, sport, leadership development, and service-based Connect Trips.
Is sport compulsory?
Yes. Emmanuel College participates in the Associated Private Schools (APS) interschool sport competition. Attendance is compulsory for all students in Years 4–12 at our annual swimming, athletics, and cross-country carnivals.
Is transport available to and from the College?
The College does not operate a dedicated bus service. We encourage families to consult the local council website to explore public transport options in your area.
Are scholarships available?
Yes, Emmanuel College offers a number of scholarships for students entering the Senior School. Full details can be found on our Scholarships page.
What are the school hours and term dates?
Our school day begins with supervised play from 8:00am. Classes run from 8:30am to 3:15pm, with earlier finish times for younger students (Prep at 2:45pm and Year 1 at 2:55pm). Term dates follow the Queensland school calendar and are published annually on our website.
What is included in the fees?
Our fee structure is designed to be transparent and inclusive. Tuition fees cover all compulsory curricular activities, including excursions and camps during school hours. For Junior School students, stationery and devices are also included.
Senior School students are responsible for supplying their own stationery and a personal laptop. Uniforms, school bags, and meals are provided by families. Extra-curricular programs, including Connect Trips, are optional and may incur additional costs.

Students are expected to wear their uniform with pride, maintaining an overall neat and respectful appearance. Our Uniform Guide outlines the full requirements for each year level, including seasonal options, sport uniforms, and dress standards.
