Emmanuel College students showed outstanding determination and sportsmanship at the APS Cross Country Carnival, competing in challenging muddy conditions across both Junior and Senior School events.

Our Junior School team delivered a strong performance, finishing 4th overall in the Percentage Trophy and 6th in the Aggregate Trophy.

The Senior School team also impressed, finishing a close second in both the Percentage Trophy and Aggregate Trophy after a highly competitive day of racing.

A special mention goes to our Year 11 students, who travelled from their Toowoomba camp to represent Emmanuel with commitment and pride.

Thank you to our dedicated coaches, staff, team managers and officials for their support in making the day a success.

Congratulations to all students on their outstanding efforts and the way they represented Emmanuel College.

It’s a Wycliffe wipeout!

Congratulations to Wycliffe for winning both the Junior and Senior School Cross Country Carnivals. This result reflects the commitment, teamwork and strong house spirit shown throughout the day.

Well done to every student who took part. It was encouraging to see the determination and resilience on the course, along with the support and encouragement from the sidelines. These moments are what make days like this so meaningful for our community.

We are grateful to our teachers, support staff, sports staff and the BMR team for the care and effort they brought to the event. From marshalling and course management to timing, set up and pack down, your work ensured the day ran smoothly for everyone involved.

Courage, commitment and College pride were on full display throughout our swimming season

Emmanuel College celebrated a thrilling Senior School House Swimming Carnival, with Luther House claiming victory for the third consecutive year. The day was marked by spirited competition, courageous performances and unwavering house pride. From first heats to final relays, students demonstrated determination, resilience and teamwork — embodying the very best of our College community.

Our Junior School Swimming Carnival was equally memorable, with Taylor House securing a well-earned win to round out a fantastic day in the pool. Across every age group there was a wonderful blend of healthy competition, individual achievement and joyful celebration. We are proud of the courage and sportsmanship shown by all students, whether competing, cheering or supporting their peers.

At the Senior School APS Swimming Carnival, Emmanuel achieved an extraordinary milestone — claiming our eighth APS Championship title. This phenomenal accomplishment reflects not only the strength and preparation of our swimmers, but also the culture of commitment and excellence that underpins our sport program. Every race was contested with determination and heart, and the team’s collective effort delivered an outstanding result for the College.

Our Year 4–6 students also represented Emmanuel with distinction at the Junior School APS Swim Carnival. Competing with confidence and unity, our squad achieved multiple personal bests and podium finishes across all age groups, finishing an impressive fourth overall. We extend our sincere thanks to our dedicated swim coaches for their preparation and guidance across both days of competition.

On the back of a year filled with stellar sporting achievements, the Emmanuel College Sports Awards Evening was an unforgettable celebration of talent, dedication, and school spirit. The event recognised students who have excelled in their chosen sporting arenas and proudly represented Emmanuel with determination and grace.

On Friday 7 November, students were honoured for their outstanding achievements across a range of team and individual sports. It was a privilege to celebrate the successes of these remarkable young people, surrounded by their proud families, coaches, and supporters.

A highlight of the evening was hearing from our guest speaker, four-time Australian Olympian, former NBL and NBA player, and NBL Hall of Famer, Mr Mark Bradtke. Mark captivated the audience with stories from his incredible basketball career, offering inspiring insights into resilience, teamwork, and perseverance. His engaging Q&A session, hosted by Mr Sam Priestly and Year 12 MC Lawson Lukin, gave students valuable advice and encouragement as they continue to pursue their own sporting dreams.

Exciting future for AFL

AFL Q Cup Junior Boys compressed
Our Year 4-6 Primary Boys recently travelled to the Sunshine Coast to play in the AFL Q Cup State Finals.

Our team was invited to play after finishing strongly in the regional tournament. Their overall 7th place result in Queensland was very positive, and the boys enjoyed the weekend and gained valuable experience. The team finished 3rd in their pool, progressing to the play-offs. 

We are excited for the future of this young team, with many players currently in Year 4 or 5.
