The Year 2s enjoyed an informative and fun-filled visit to the Hinterland Heritage Museum as part of our HASS unit.

The students thoroughly enjoyed visiting the various buildings, which included a slab hut, a blacksmith’s shop, a classroom and a railway station. They learnt how various items were used by pioneers, and what life was like with no electricity, running water and no flushing toilets. Some highlights included typing on a real typewriter, practising carrying buckets of water and even experiencing what it was like to be locked in a real jail cell. It was a wonderful experience for all.

Students showed such beautiful generosity through their giving to the Operation Christmas Child appeal.

Thank you to all the families who contributed to this. 458 people are going to have a blessed Christmas because of the Emmanuel community.

Chess participants from Year 1-6 recently participated in the Gold Coast Interschool all Ages Championship.

They each played seven games over the course of the day against students from across both the State and Independent sectors. Emmanuel Junior School hosted the event and walked away with several highly commended awards.
