Principal's Message

Some opportunities, like the Junior School FRIENDS program are woven into the curriculum whilst others like the Year 8 Compass, the Year 9 Response, the Year 10 Journey and the Year 11 Mentoring programs are voluntary. They are all, if I’m honest, quite remarkable. These programs are an integral part of the education on offer here, and I would encourage you to talk to your children about joining in.

APS Junior Cross Country Results

Our Junior School Cross Country team performed very strongly at the APS Carnival to finish in 4th place. This was up from 5th last year with a big improvement in points earned. The effort from our students was outstanding and it was great to see the enthusiasm shown. The improved performance gives us great optimism that the next few years will prove very rewarding for our runners.

Like the Senior School, we had some good age division team placings, especially from the girls:

1st:   12 Boys
2nd: 10 Girls & 11 Girls
3rd:  12 Girls

Individually we had some outstanding performers with nine podium finishers and two Age
Champions. These were:

1st   Tara Sosinski 12 Girls
         Matthew Beal 12 Boys
2nd  Matisse Gamlin 11 Girls
         Seth Michell 9 Boys
3rd   Ashleigh Galjaardt 12 Girls
          Adéle Phillips 11 Girls
          Kristin Ramsay 10 Girls
          Ethan Links 12 Boys
         Jordan Chalmers 11 Girls

The 10 - 12 year old students above have been selected in the HDSA team to contest the Regional carnival on 9 June. Best wishes!
