Visual Arts

Visual Art is a powerful subject that provides opportunities for innovative thinking, problem solving and originality. The senior school Visual Arts department is committed to nurturing creative thinking and fostering a supportive learning environment that celebrates and develops each student’s own unique visual language.

At Emmanuel College, we implement a diverse program that facilitates students of all skill levels to achieve success in their ‘making tasks’. We regularly hold small-scale exhibitions in the Art Building that showcases the talents of our students and we routinely invite the Emmanuel College community to view these works, building an open appreciation for Visual Art.

Our learning environments are challenging and relevant; students learn the techniques of old masters, as well as the contemporary and digital practices of emerging artists. This opens pathways to university studies in both traditional/fine art and digital media/graphics. Visual Art students from Emmanuel College have gone on to study animation, architecture, fashion design and advertising design, just to name a few areas of expertise.
