Troubleshooting

 

If you are having difficulties accessing the EC Gateway, please try the following:


1. Browser ActiveX Security

If you get the following yellow bar at the top of your window (after entering your login details and clicking 'Login'), click on the yellow bar and choose 'Install...'

2. Trusted Sites

Add the emmanuel gateway site to your 'trusted sites' list and set the security level for trusted sites to 'Low'. Here's how...

i. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options...

ii. Click on the security tab, then on the 'Trusted Sites' icon. Click on the 'Sites' button.

iii. Add https://gateway.emmanuel.qld.edu.au and http://www.emmanuel.qld.edu.au to your trusted sites list. To do so, you'll need to untick the 'Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone' checkbox. The window should end up looking like following picture. Click 'Close'.

iv. Click on the 'Custom Level' button

v. Change the drop-down box value to 'Low' then click the 'Reset' button. When presented with a warning, click 'Yes'. Click OK.

vi. Click OK, then close all open instances of Internet Explorer.

vii. Open Internet Explorer, and try to access the gateway again!


3. Java Client

Ensure that you have the latest Java Client installed.


4. Broadband Router Firmware

If you're using a broadband modem/router, make sure you've upgraded the firmware for the device to the current version. Refer to the manufacturers website or instruction manual.
