Principal's Message

Some opportunities, like the Junior School FRIENDS program are woven into the curriculum whilst others like the Year 8 Compass, the Year 9 Response, the Year 10 Journey and the Year 11 Mentoring programs are voluntary. They are all, if I’m honest, quite remarkable. These programs are an integral part of the education on offer here, and I would encourage you to talk to your children about joining in.

The loan is subject to the following conditions:

The College deems certain musical instruments to fall under the category of 'rare instruments', which are quite expensive to purchase and which we wish to include in our Co-curricular Music Program. The positive results in the study of such instruments by school age students are potentially enormous.

The Rare Instrument Payment Scheme includes the following:

  • First two years  :   Free private tuition*, $130 Instrument Hire per semester
  • After two years :  Tuition fees as per Co-Curricular fees, Free Instrument hire

*Free private lessons are given, provided that students are in regular attendance at lessons and are diligent with their home practice. The College maintains the right to withdraw instruments from students at any time should these requirements be breached.

Please note :

i.  All instruments supplied under this scholarship scheme remain the property of Emmanuel College and must be returned to the College when a student withdraws, or is removed from the Co-curricular Music Program.

ii.  The instrument is returnable to the College upon demand at any time for inspection, repair and adjustment, or for any other cause

iii.  The instrument is only to be used by the student to whom it is loaned and by no other person

iv.  Every care and attention must be given to the instrument by the student during the period of the loan. In the event of loss or damage, the matter must be reported to the College immediately by the student and/or parents/guardians

v.  Parents/guardians are responsible for the maintenance and safekeeping of any instrument hired by their children. Therefore, parents/guardians will be solely responsible for the cost to repair any damage, or the replacement of lost instruments. Please check with your own insurers as these risks may be able to be minimised through your existing Home Contents Insurance.

We agree to the conditions of loan as outlined above.
