Outstanding Results in Maths, English and Writing

The results from the UNSW International Competition and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) in English, Maths and Writing. Emmanuel College students have achieved outstanding results with many students receiving a Distinction or High Distinction. Well done to each and every student who was chosen to participate this year!

In the English Test, congratulations to the 26 students who received a Distinction and the 8 students who received a High Distinction:

Year 3 – Abby Bowker-Perry, Joel Del Villar, Danielle Fourie, Ryan Kirk and Thomas McKechnie
Year 6 – Ethan Amos, Josh Dippenaar and Michael Vossen

In the Maths Test, 18 students received a Distinction and 5 students received a High Distinction:

Year 2 – Malcolm Chan
Year 3 – Joel Del Villar
Year 4 – Audrey Yu
Year 5 – Caleb Yates
Year 6 – Lachlan Cosman

To achieve a High Distinction students must have achieved in the top 1% of State participants, a Distinction the next 10% and a Credit the next 25%. This puts into perspective the incredible results achieved by all students. Furthermore, of all the participants from Emmanuel, 25% achieved in the top two categories. These students have now all been awarded their certificates at a Junior School Assembly.

Special congratulations to the following very talented students who have received a High Distinction in more than one category:

Joel Del Villar, Year 3 – English and Maths
Alisha Teng, Year 4 – Science, Spelling and Writing
Anthony Lu, Year 5 – Science and Digital Technologies
Elise Del Villar, Year 5 –  Writing and Science
Ethan Amos, Year 6 – Writing and English
Michael Vossen, Year 6 – Writing and English
