Confucius Classroom opened to embrace multi-cultural learning

Emmanuel College is pleased to announce the Opening of our Confucius Classroom which took place on the 4 February 2016 in partnership with the Confucius Institute and Griffith University. Celebrations began following our Commencement Service with the College Orchestra playing the Chinese song ‘Year of the Dragon’ and a surprise visit from Kung Fu Lion Dancers.

The Confucius Institute is an affiliated organisation of the Office of Chinese Language Council International (HanBan) which aims to promote the learning of Chinese language and culture throughout the world and the Confucius Classrooms are centres for the very best in Chinese language and cross-cultural-skills.

There are currently just over a thousand primary and secondary schools in the world that have Confucius Classrooms - a recognition for their excellence in the teaching of Chinese. We are so honoured to have joined their ranks and we look forward to a continued partnership and support from the Confucius Institute.
