Principal's Message

Some opportunities, like the Junior School FRIENDS program are woven into the curriculum whilst others like the Year 8 Compass, the Year 9 Response, the Year 10 Journey and the Year 11 Mentoring programs are voluntary. Heartwarming Stories from Baroness Cox inspires Emmanuel students

Our students were honoured to host a BBQ for Baroness Caroline Cox on Saturday afternoon as she shared some of her heartwarming encounters from her humanitarian aid work and her role in the House of Lords.

Our Theatre guests were then taken on a visual journey of her many missions to conflict zones, where she obtained first hand evidence of the human rights violations and humanitarian needs. These areas included Sudan, Nigeria, Uganda, the Karen and many others, including the communities suffering from conflict in Indonesia.

It was evident that Caroline has had a huge impact on the lives of the people she has connected with through her work within the communities and the positive effect of the many initiatives and medical programmes for which she was instrumental in implementing.

The stories Caroline shared captured the hearts of the audience and encouraged us all to become aware that everyone can do 'something' and together we can make a difference in the lives of those in need.

Thank you, Baroness Cox for an enlightening evening.
