Congratulations to our Year 11 ICT Robotics team on winning first place in the 2016 National ICT Titles at UTS in Sydney on the weekend for their water quality monitoring project.
Mr Jacob George and the team of boys presented their "Water Detection Sensor Network" project in the Open Category, representing Queensland against the winners from the other state competitions. The standard was a massive leap from the state competition with some very impressive technology on display.
This is a culmination of almost a year’s work for Ben Gonzalez, Jonluca Percuoco, Kealy Collins and Joseph You. We are also very proud of the fact that in the seven years this competition has been running, SAP (the World’s largest Business Software Development Company) has only given one other paid internship. Ben Gonzalez is only the second school/student to be offered this year-long paid internship. With our success, SAP are looking to accommodate the other three members of the team as well.
These pics show a little about how it works - with the portable kit and in the background you can see the mapping (blue points) of the sensors during a test run.
