Recently Year 1 travelled to Paradise Country to learn more about the farm and the different habitats of animals. During the day, they were able to see a demonstration on how to shear a sheep and there was also a very entertaining horse riding and whip cracking show which kept the children thoroughly entertained. Later on the students were also able to pat the koala and feed the kangaroos.
At the end of the day the smiles on the faces of the Year 1’s was a good reflection of the great day. A big thank you to all the parents who helped out.
The following article, written by Zoe Clune is a recount of the Year 1 trip to Paradise Country:
“Last Friday we went to Paradise Country for an excursion. All Year One came. We went on a bus. First we went to a shearing shed. Three of our boys went on stage to shear a sheep. I heard a big noise and it was the sheep, as they came running down. We went and had morning tea, it was a yummy damper. We also saw lorikeets, dingoes, and cows getting milked and fed some kangaroos. It was great!”
