Principal's Message

Some opportunities, like the Junior School FRIENDS program are woven into the curriculum whilst others like the Year 8 Compass, the Year 9 Response, the Year 10 Journey and the Year 11 Mentoring programs are voluntary. They are all, if I’m honest, quite remarkable. These programs are an integral part of the education on offer here, and I would encourage you to talk to your children about joining in.

Junior School GC South District carnival

The day after the APS event, our Junior School students produced another brilliant set of results.

In races of over 150 competitors, from more than thirty schools, Emmanuel students picked up seven podium finishes (from eighteen possible) and has ten students selected in the District team to compete at the Regional Carnival on Saturday 10 June.

We also had so many other runners in the top 20-30.

The Regional carnival is on Tuesday 10 June. We are hoping to be able to report some excellent results. A list of the thirty six selected students is included below:

Achievements

Congratulations to our Girls Open A Soccer team who recently thrashed John Paul College 17-0 in the Uhlsport Cup. They have one final match in their pool against Rivermount College, which if they win, will see them progress through to the State quarter finals! Great effort girls!

Congratulations to the following individuals on recent outstanding achievements:

Brittany Gerada – South Coast Open Football team were Qld Champions – Brittany named as shadow for Qld Team!
Connor Nutting – South Coast 15yr Australian Rules team were Qld 
Champions – Connor was named as shadow for Qld Team!
Georgie Rankin – South Coast Basketball Open Girls Qld Champions! 
Matt Neave – South Coast Open Basketball – Named as member of the Qld # 2 team to contest the Australian Championships in Townsville.

Both Georgie and Matt are currently playing in the Southern Basketball League, Open Division, which includes teams from around SE Qld.

Georgie Rollino, Amber Glew, Hollie Palmer and Josh Langdon all selected in the South Coast Regional U15 Soccer Teams.

Josh, Lisa and Brianna Edgar all selected in the South Coast Regional Golf team. Jacob Montgomery named as shadow.


APS Fixtures

This Thursday, 12 June, all the Junior School teams will be involved in a Gala Sports Day as a season finale against the other seven APS schools. Round Robins matches will be held between 10am-2pm at various venues. Notes will go out with all details.

This Friday, 13 June, is the Senior School Finals Day with all 67 teams playing off against the team next to them on the ladder, at the end of the fixture rounds. As we go to print, we are hoping that we will have over 20 teams contending Premiership matches.

Semester 1 Sports Awards

On Thursday 19 June, we will be having two sports assemblies to present Badges and MVP Awards achieved by our students in the past 5 months.

The Junior School assembly will be at 9.00am and the Senior School assembly at 1.00pm. The Senior School assembly will be followed by the 1500m events for the athletics carnival at approximately 1.45pm.
