This term, the Year 10 and 11 students attended a safe driving presentation with Total Driver. The message delivered was to keep our students safe, and advising the students as to why the accident rate of young new drivers is five times that of established drivers. Gene Corbett of Total Driver took the students through a journey of why all drivers create their own accidents, some key road rules and a question and answer session, which was informative and entertaining.
The students were given a worksheet to take with them and a response sheet to show their interest in being involved in the program, with the possibility of winning a driving scholarship worth $660.00.
Total Driver is working with Griffith University and a group of students over the next three years, on a research program, using a controlled and non-controlled group of students to highlight the faults in the current system of driver learning. The program delivered, encompasses students from Year 10 through to Year 12, and delivers programs provided to the students, which are supported by Bendigo Bank, to produce a far safer road user.
Parents will have hopefully received this information by now and can respond by completing the form and emailing Robertb@totaldriver.com.au for a fact sheet.
Total Driver are also giving all Emmanuel students an extra 10% discount on their training programs, as part of their “Keep Christmas Safe” promotion.
