Governance

Emmanuel College, ABN 71 010 563 256, is a non-profit public company endorsed by the ATO (Australian Taxation Office) as a Charitable Institution. The company's financial reports are audited annually and it reports annually to ASIC (Australian Securities and Investments Commission).

The company is not linked to any church, nor to any other body. It is completely independent but its educational purposes and mission are unapologetically Christian, based on a Statement of Faith which reflects the beliefs of all the major Christian denominations, both Protestant and Catholic.

The company has a broad based membership of Christian people actively and regularly involved in the life of their own local church. Members are drawn from College families, former students and others who have a keen praying interest in the life of the College. The members appoint a Board of Directors from the Company membership to oversee the Governance of the company and the College. In addition to their legal duties, the Board of Directors are accountable to the members.

The Board of Directors employs the Principal and other members of the Executive Team who, in turn, manage the employment of other staff and manage the day to day operations of the company and the College.

Annual Government Reports

The Annual Government Reports are intended to serve two purposes:

  • To provide parents (and prospective parents) with an accurate summary of the College and it’s achievements each school year; and
  • To fulfil our statutory reporting requirements under State and Commonwealth legislation (some of which may be of little general interest and requires detailed statistics)

Emmanuel College is administered at governance level by a Board of Directors, who have the oversight of the College, through the parent company. The College reports on financial matters to the Commonwealth Department of Education and is responsible to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (A.S.I.C.) as a not-for-profit corporation.

Operational Plan

The Operational Plan has been developed by the Board of Directors of Emmanuel College and outlines the exciting changes the College is anticipating within the next five years. Our previous five years has been marked by growth across the College in many areas, and a deepening of our commitment to the core mission of our College.

Policies

Emmanuel College Policies are available to all current parents either via our intranet, ECNet, or may be requested from the Head of Campus. Prospective Parents seeking to view College policies can refer to the summaries of the core policies on the Application for Enrolment forms or may request complete versions from the Admissions Registrar.
