Emmanuel College is an enthusiastic community of educators and support staff. We are committed to hiring staff who demonstrate excellence in their field, who are prepared to commit wholeheartedly to the values and ethos of the College, and who confess to a personal Christian faith.
We are committed to the principle of being a multi-denominational Christian school. In practice this means:
- we hold no distinction between Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox;
- we are committed to the Christian scriptures as our guide and foundation;
- we are committed to the necessity of placing Jesus Christ at the centre of our school.
Staff at Emmanuel College are treated as professionals, and given opportunities to innovate and to develop themselves. Our staff work on specific principles that guide each of us in our own professional standards and daily practice.
All staff, teaching and non-teaching, are invited to participate in co-curricular events which might include mission trips or student camps, and so we apply these standards to all staff employment positions.

TEACHING POSITION: JUNIOR SCHOOL
Numeracy Curriculum Leader – 1 year pilot
The Numeracy Curriculum Leader position will be part of a three year cycle, beginning in 2016, and then once every 3 years, the Numeracy Curriculum Leader will teach a 0.2 load while the position is combined in that year with the role of a Professional Development Co-ordinator for the Junior School.
In the subsequent two years the position will be a 0.8 teaching load and will rotate with another main subject leader, ie. English and Science/Humanities. This will enable each of the three main subject leaders to have time over one year to make significant changes to the curriculum. This development will then be implemented and maintain for the subsequent two years before more significant work can be completed again in the third year.
We are beginning this program as a one-year pilot to ensure the leadership structure will meet our needs. This new position will be a 12 month contract.
Remuneration is in line with the Emmanuel College Collective Workplace Agreement current at the time of appointment. Emmanuel College pays 11.5% superannuation and provides a laptop for all academic staff, together with a robust professional learning program.
