Some opportunities, like the Junior School FRIENDS program are woven into the curriculum whilst others like the Year 8 Compass, the Year 9 Response, the Year 10 Journey and the Year 11 Mentoring programs are voluntary. APS Summer Season Wrap:

The Senior School APS Summer Season was completed last Friday week, with a full round of finals involving all our teams.
In the end, we won 14 of the 24 Grand Finals we contested, including nine “A” division premierships, which was an excellent outcome – including some last gasp thrillers in the Open Boy’s Water Polo and the Intermediate Girls Aust. Rules and an unexpected win in the 10A Boys Basketball.

Congratulations to all players and to those teachers who have worked so hard with so many of the teams.

Premiership winning teams were:

Aust. Rules:     Open A Boys, Intermediate A Girls, Junior A Girls.
Basketball:      Yr 10 A Boys, Yr 9 A Boys, Yr 9 B Girls, Yr 8 B Girls, Tier 2 Jnr Boys.
Touch:              Yr 9 A & 9 B Girls, Yr 7 A Girls, Tier 2 Jnr Girls.
Water Polo:      Open A Boys.
Tennis:              Jnr A Boys.

Our Junior School APS Summer Season finished yesterday. While no premierships are awarded for primary school sport it was pleasing to note at the end of the season we had 8 undefeated teams. Congratulations to all the players and to those teachers and coaches who have worked with the teams since August.

Underfeated teams were:

Aust. Rules:     Yr 6 Girls, Yr 5 Girls, Yr 6 Boys, Yr 5 Boys
Softball:            Yr 4 Girls

Basketball:       Yr 4B Girls
Touch:               Yr 6B Girls, Yr 4A Girls

Touch Success

Congratulations to our Primary School Girls Touch team for their outstanding semi - final placing at the Qld Primary Schools Championships at Redland Bay last weekend. They won 5 consecutive matches and played high quality touch before being eventually beaten by the carnival champions in the semi-final.  There were around 50 schools represented in the Girls division. Well done girls.
